Max and Chase for the Garcia Family ? GA | Reece's Rainbow ...

Norman and Lisa married in 2002, bringing together five children?including four teenage girls! Lisa had two daughters who she had adopted from the PA foster care system when they were 8 and 9 years old. And Norman had two daughters and a son from his previous marriage. The first few years of blending their family was stressful on all of them but they got through it. So in 2008 when their last child moved out of the home they thought they were in for the ?empty nesters? life. That is until they entered into a 40 day prayer/fasting period with their church. One day, while praying against abortion, God dropped it into Lisa?s heart to adopt again from foster care. But Norman thought she had just gone too many days without eating! Sure enough, though, through a series of events, Norman knew that this is what they were supposed to do.

They signed up with Bethany Christian Services to adopt older waiting children from the GA foster care system. But their first placement was a 13 month old boy. They realized later that he was born in the very same month that God had first told the Garcia?s to adopt?October 2008!! A year and a half later they adopted a sibling group of three, ages 7, 8, and 9. The transition with three children moving in wasn?t easy at first, and the Garcia?s thought that this would be their final placement. But as their family settled down and found that place of peace once more, Norman and Lisa knew they still had room in their home and hearts for more children.

This time they felt drawn towards children with special needs and they wanted to adopt from an orphanage. After reading children?s bios and watching videos, they fell in love with two sweet boys, ages 9 and 12 from Eastern Europe. They read about some of the boys? physical/cognitive needs, and how they long to be adopted. They even got to listen to the boys sing a couple of songs?which means they fit right in with the Garcia Family, as Norman and Lisa are both worship leaders/songwriters! They are now in the process of doing all they can to raise the funds to bring these two boys home. They have two books they?ve written, as well as original Christian music, all of which are for sale on their web site, www.FamilyGarcia.net. They are also asking people in the North Atlanta area to keep them in mind if they know someone who wants to buy a house, as they have their own real estate company, La Roca Realty. Just a few extra home closings can help them raise all of the funds they will need to adopt Internationally!

During this process of searching for children to bring into their home, the Garcia?s fell in love with so many little ones. They know they can?t adopt them all, but they want to at least help find families for more of them. They have just been asked to serve on the board of Bethany Christian Services in Atlanta, and they hope this will give them the opportunity to visit churches and share their adoption experiences, as well as encourage the body of Christ to take a leap of faith and invite orphaned children into their families.
